About Us

Melbourne Young Writers’ Studio/Story Studios Australia exists to inspire and nurture a lasting love of stories and storytelling. We work with young and emerging creative writers, who are just starting out, right through to experienced writers who are looking for community, accountability or a fresh perspective. We take a mentoring approach (as opposed to a teaching only approach) towards imparting skills, knowledge and to sharing our passion. As such our group sizes are small and our courses are tailored, fun and immersive. Be it through a young writers’ Story Writing Group or Private Mentorship, a holiday program, school program, OR one of our adult courses, workshops or events – every single one of our programs is grounded in expanding confidence, creativity and community.

We work with and welcome every kind of creative writer and storyteller. From poets to screenwriters, diarists to journalists, playwrights, novelists, hobbyists, hedonists and hardened hagiographers… actually that last one hasn’t happened yet but please if you are out there, we would love to see you!
